The e-Science Institute has been operating since August 2001.

  • Phase 1 was funded for 3 years from 1 August 2001 - 31 July 2004 as part fo the UK e-Science Programme, funded by the joint Research Councils through the then DTI.
  • Phase 2 was funded in the same way, from 1 August 2004 - 31 July 2006.
  • Phase 3 has been funded by the same programme, but now via the EPSRC for the period 1 August 2006 - 31 July 2011.
