• How can we manage resources that are free at the point of access when they are faced with a potentially unlimited demand?
• How can problems associated with the licensing of software and data be overcome?

• What strategies do we have to ensure that the technologies we adopt are supported over a long-enough timeframe? What is a long-enough timeframe?

• How do we avoid lock-in to technologies which may become less useful or even dysfunctional over time? How can we make sure that switching costs are low enough so that we can adopt new technologies?
