Aim of the Workshop
The aim of the workshop is to produce a substantial document discussing strategies and guidelines for realising e-Research infrastructures, for their uptake and for their sustainable use.
Workshop Outputs
The workshop outputs are currently being worked up in a blog, feel free to comment on any of the blog entries by clicking on "add a comment" or the "reply" link for an existing comment to follow up. Your comment will show up as soon once it has been approved by one of the the blog owners (email Alex if you have any questions or comments).
Workshop Programme
The first two days are organised into seven discussion sessions, each with a specific topic and will be chaired by a different person with specific interest in the session topic. The chair will be responsible for introducing and scoping the topic of discussion (this will be prepared beforehand in collaboration with Alex Voss) as well as managing the flow of the discussion. The discussion will be audio recorded and notes will be taken by a scribe to help with the write-up of the report.
The aim of the third day of the workshop is to collect substantial written material as a contribution to the workshop report. We will make use of appropriate collaboration tools such as discussion forums, blogs and wikis and attendees are invited to bring along their laptops for this purpose. Everyone is invited to contribute individually but we would like to organise the writing in small groups of 3-4 people in order to keep discussions going. Before lunch we will review contributions in order to identify gaps and overlaps and re-align the process if necessary.
